Kent serves as the USFS Northern Region Trails, Dispersed Recreation, and Travel Management Program Manager. As a career Forest Service employee, he has experience in recreation, forest planning, silviculture, and range, with the last 26 years primarily in recreation. He began his permanent career on the Palouse Ranger District (Clearwater NF – Idaho), in Region 1, as a Forester, then Assistant Silviculturist and then District Recreation & Range Program Manager. He moved to the White River National Forest in Region 2 where he served as Assistant District Ranger from 2000 -2002. Next stop was the Idaho Panhandle National Forests where he served as Forest Recreation Program Manager (2002-2011) and then Forest Planner (2012). Then to the Willamette National Forest in Region 6 where he served as Staff Officer for Recreation, Lands, Minerals, and Heritage (2013-2015).
